Celebrant – Blessings & Ceremonies

My experience as a toastmaster at weddings and events has led me to extend my services to perform blessings and ceremonies. I love writing unique, personalised scripts for such special occasions. (I write children’s books as a hobby!)

Wedding Blessings (non-legal): I love writing and performing wedding blessings. In comparison to a registrar led ceremony, a wedding blessing provides great scope for creativity! We will get to know each other in the lead up to the blessing so that I can create a personalised script for you. We will work on the script together until it is perfect, then I will perform your blessing with care and compassion. You could include a hand fasting, sand ceremony, readings, poems, hymns and more. I will arrive for your blessing with plenty of time to introduce myself to your family and friends and I will invite guests to take their seats at the right moment. I am happy to help with extra details such as attaching button holes.

Naming Ceremonies: A Naming Ceremony is the perfect alternative to a christening. A naming ceremony officially welcomes the new arrival into their family and community. I will create a bespoke script to incorporate as much information as you wish – this could include details about the pregnancy, birth, early days, how the name was chosen, what the name means and how the baby will be supported and cherished by family and friends. We can include readings, guardian promises, songs, seed planting etc. I have even performed a naming ceremony for a labradoodle!

In contrast to my usual red toastmaster attire, I have a collection of floral/pastel dresses that I wear for blessings and ceremonies.
